Calm on Event Day and Every Day in Between

Event strategy and operations consultant, championship-winning goalie, former personal trainer and sports conditioning coach, and someone who is genuinely done watching talented event professionals burn out.

My whole career has been built at the intersection of performance and sustainability. I’ve been the Venue Manager, the Event Producer, on the supplier side, inside municipal government, and a former VP of Communications for ILEA Vancouver and board member of ILEA Canada. I’ve worked nearly every corner of this industry and I bring all of that to the table when we work together.

I still play hockey, still train at the gym and still book the massage into my calendar like a meeting. As Elaine Welteroth says, “if I want a sustainable business, I need to be a sustainable person first.” I couldn’t agree more. It’s not just something I tell clients, It’s how I’m trying my best to live.

The one thing that has helped me as an athlete, an event professional, and just living life? Having great systems in place!

Systems create consistency. They reduce decision fatigue. They give me clarity so I can lead with a clear direction. Having great systems in place means having a foundation so solid that you can take on whatever comes your way. They give me my time back, let me work at the level I should be, and allow me to show up for myself and my team the way I know I can.

Systems are the reason I’m known for being calm under pressure even when the stakes are high and I can’t afford to lose. That’s the idea behind my whole business and why I created the Calm Under Pressure Method.

The Calm Under Pressure Method

My Approach

The best goalies don’t scramble. They prepare, they position, and they protect.

That is how I built this method and every way we work together runs on it.

PREPARE

This is all about getting that solid foundation in place and being ready for whatever comes at you next.

Team member just gave notice? No problem! Everything’s documented, the team can easily jump in and onboarding for the new person is ready to go.

Do you want to modernize your systems and catch up with AI but, don’t know where to start?

These are a couple of examples of the problems I can solve for you.

With a solid foundation, you and your team have more time and capacity to breathe, to think more creatively, and to be proactive rather than reactive.

Remember those other business ideas that you haven’t got a chance to pursue because you didn’t have the time or mental capacity to do them? Now’s the time to position you and your team up for whatever direction you want to go in next.

This is where you fine-tune your business and be able to take a real vacation without checking your email or team chats.

POSITION

Protect is all about protecting what you now have; the solid systems in place, the team capacity, the new business ideas and protecting the direction your business is going in now. Also, protecting your peace of mind so you can continue to do what you do best and being ready for the obstacles that will inevitably come up down the road.

PROTECT

Here Is Why My Approach Is Different:

I’m a former high performance athlete, coach and personal trainer so, I bring a unique vision and experience for what sustainable success looks and feels like and how to get you and your team performing your best all year long

I’m a systems-thinker and collaborative leader with a big dose of empathy, so it’s easy for me to see the big picture, spot inefficiencies, and come up with solutions from a place of curiosity and aligning decision-makers and team members knowing that everyone operates at different speeds.

I have worked in nearly every corner of the event industry so it’s easy for me to understand where you are coming from

I know permitting from both sides of the table; the event producer, and inside municipal government approving the permits, executing memorable event experiences in multi-department and multi-agency environments
